Sumo wrestlers in training. In May I spent a week shooting sumo wrestling in Tokyo. I had access to a training stable and many of the rituals that preceed and take place during the Basho. I was gripped by the poetry and unpredictability of Sumo .Rigid sporting parameters revealing astonishing moments of improvisation and physical imagination. A series of short duets with infinite endings.
